Kari participated in her first Science Fair. No, I did not do it for her. If you read her information it is in the language of Kari-the Kindergartner. She chose to grow grass seeds and water one with clean water and the other with soapy water. She thought the soapy water would not let the grass grow, but it actually did so her hypothesis was incorrect. (I thought it was awesome that her hypothesis was incorrect because she was surprised and LEARNED from it! Experiments like that are the best!)
Kari was as pleased as punch that she won a 2nd place ribbon. She says her project was just "perfect" for 2nd Place and she is thrilled (me too because we don't have to worry about District - she is only in Kindergarten).

Here are her cups with the seeds in them. She started her project with them.

Here they are after 2 weeks. Time to mow that grass.

Kari did a great job measuring the plants and taking care of them.

We all came to see her project at the open house. Grandma Beth came too.

Kari's friend Kella did a project on making compost.

Kella's sister, Sarah, who is also Kari's friend tested out flat shoe laces verses round shoe laces to prepare for a hike in the Grand Canyon this summer. Sarah won 2nd place in her grade!

Kari was about to give Miss Joyce a "high 5" when I snapped the picture. Her Principal, Mr. Porter is standing with the Kindergarten winners.

Great Job Kari! Kari wants to try a different project now in our yard with flowers. Kya wants to as well so we may just have a mini science fair at our house this summer. Science is SOOOOO cool!
