The Nativity

We love going to the Temple to see the Nativity and all the beautiful lights! The lights were definitely distracting and much more important than looking at the camera.
Of course we had to climb the beautiful stairs. I remember climbing them every Christmas season when we would go see the lights. The Temple is such a blessing to have so close and I love that our children break into singing "I love to see the Temple" whenever we go over the red hill and see the Temple in the valley below.

Christmas Dance Recital 2009

Kya had her first dance recital this Christmas! She did a tap dance to "Rudolf, the Red Nose Reindeer". It was very cute and she knew the routine the best in her class.
Kari also did a tap dance and her song was "Santa Clause is Coming to Town". She did a very good job and even kept her shoe on!

Kari's Kindergarten Christmas Concert

All the Kindergarten classes at Dixie Sun Elementary got together and sang many Christmas songs, both in English and Spanish. It was very fun to see!

The Truck Project Paint

Nice Paint Job! The truck is now painted and it looks great! It still needs some rhino lining in the floor of the cab and the back of the truck. The seat is almost finished and the engine is just about ready to put back in the truck. It should be running in no time!




This shows some progress with the truck project. These first pictures are of he truck after it has had some dents taken out, some bondo and lots of sanding done to it.


These next set of pictures have the white coat of paint on it.

My new art project!

I love learning new things! I was inspired by the art some students and other teachers were doing at school that I decided to try it. This is the Chrystler Building in New York. All of it was done with magazine clippings. The building has so much detail that it took a lot of time. The picture was 20 X 24 inches so it was quite large and took so very much time, all of which was done in the middle of the night when my children were asleep.
Kade went to New York on his mission and the Chrystler building was one of his favorite buildings because of the chrome looking top, plus it has a lot to do with cars. Kade is transforming the garage into a New York theme so this will go in the garage.
I was able to take many liberties with the sky and I added in many cars and car parts. See how many you can count. This was a lot of fun, although I will probably do something a bit smaller next time unless I do it in the summer.
This was my labor of love for my hubby. Merry Christmas Kade!

6 month old KOLDEN

Kolden LOVES to play in the bathtub! He smiles and giggles and loves to splash as much as he can all over the place. He is fascinated with the water and when he is sitting up he is so determined to catch it!

You can see he is concentrating on his splashing effects and you can see all the waves in the water. He is such a fun little boy!

He cleans up really well too! Kade bought Kolden this cute Sunday outfit. He looks so handsome in it!


He is such a "chill" little boy as he drools some more. He is a happy guy and loves the attention his sisters and parents and everyone gives him. We love Kolden!

Chess-man or Cheese-man?

What does the shirt say?......I made these shirts for our holiday family picture by using bleach and white vinegar. It is a great chemical reaction that creates the opposite effect of tie dying. I use it as a lab for my 8th graders. I think our shirts turned out great! If you can't tell it says Chess + Man ? Cheese + Man. It is because our name is pronounced Chessman, but it looks more like Cheeseman. We think they are great! Try it at home... its SCIENCE!!!!

The kids and the train

Grandma and Grandpa Cheesman have a fun train around their Christmas Tree. The kids had lots of fun watching it and it made for some fun pictures of them.
