Zion National Park Centennial Race

We took an adventure and went to see Uncle Clint run the Centennial 10K through Zion National Park. It was such nice weather we just had to spend a good part of the day in Zion just loving it. I must admit I was a bit jealous because it was such a gorgeous run. Maybe in another century I can try it at age 130. Just kidding. Hopefully someday in the nearer future they will do another run through Zion. Clint did a great job in the race and I saw lots of friends from the gym in the race. Kari brought along her friend Emmie so she could watch her parents run in at the finish line. It was fun having her and also cheering for her parents.
Yaaaaaa Bud! Clint is about to cross the finish line.
Everyone got a really cool Zion Centennial Medal for running the race. It looks good on Clint.
Clint with Zion Canyon in the background. What a beautiful place.
Clint at the finish line.
After the race we took the bus and went on a short hike to Lower Emerald Pools. Kiera was excited to sit with Grandma Beth and have her own big girl seat. Grandma and Kiera stayed by the Zion Lodge while we went on the hike.
We found some really pretty purple flowers. Instead of picking them we took a picture of them.
The girls were getting tired on the hike, but as soon as they saw the waterfall and water in the lower Emerald Pool they were fine and re-energized.
There was a bit of mud and Kade was holding Kya's hand as he slid through it. Consequently Kya was drug through the mud and was slightly horrified at being so dirty. Luckaly she was not hurt. Dad was washing her off with some of the water falling from the waterfall.
Kya and I also found some pretty yellow flowers.
Back by the Zion Lodge Grandma Beth and Kiera found a tree with some really wild roots. They were perfect to sit and take a picture on.

EASTER 2009

After the Easter Car show we had a fun Easter Egg Hunt in he back yard. Grandma Beth gave the girls the cute picnic table behind Kiera. Kiera loved hunting for eggs, even if they don't have candy in them.
Kya loves finding the eggs with cheese curd in them. She also likes the peanut butter eggs too.
Kari loves finding everything, but she loves eating candy gum and chocolate covered marshmallows.
Kari found more treasures, yummy good food to eat before the treats.
Dogness is playing with Uncle Clint and trying to get him to go where he wants to go.
Our girls in their pretty Easter dresses on Easter morning. We enjoyed the boiled eggs for breakfast and some chocolate too.
More Easter egg hunting at Grandma and Grandpa Cheesman's house with the cousins.
Kari is tall enough to find eggs in Grandpa's raised strawberry beds.
Kya is quite content with her find during the Easter egg hunt.

Dad looks super handsome in his pokadot bowtie. Pretty girls with handsome Dad!

All of us girls. It was such a nice Easter Day.
Our sweet girls are growing up so fast!

2009 Hurricane Easter Car Show & KADE WON!

Kade won 1st place in the 70's category in the Hurricane Easter Car Show. Kade is very proud of his great work on his 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport - painted like Starsky & Hutch.
Now we just have to figure out what to do with that huge trophy. Maybe Kade should weld it to the front of the car as the hood ornament. Just kidding!
All of us girls went to see dad and his Torino at the car show. It rained off and on.
The girls love being with dad and enjoying all the fun cars.
Handsome Kade with his cool car.
We decided to have a people's choice award and each of us would get a vote. Kade and I were seperated at the car show when I went to take Kya to the bathroom. We were trying to find each other and we ended up looking at the same car. We both agreed that this was our favorite car because of the gorgous paint job.
Kade has recently purchased our family a 1992 Lincoln Town Car. I still don't love it much, but we will need a second car that can hold all six of us when Kolden is born. I told Kade that if he painted the "Grandma Car" - Lincoln Town Car the same color as this awesome car then it would make it more likeable. I give Kade a hard time as I tease him, but it would make the car look great with this kind of a paint job. The colors are "Shamrock" as the base coat and "Indy Green" as the top coat with lots and lots of 'candy' in the top coat that makes it shine so much. Kade is constantly schooling me in "Car Appreciation" so I am learning a lot.
This is Kari's favorite because of the wood on it.
Kari's most favorite part was that she could watch the pistons go up and down on the engine when the owner started it up.
dKya's favorite was this orange truck because it was orange, her favorite color.
Kade helped Kiera pick one out. One of Kade's favorite fun cars, a Shelby Mustang worth $60,0000.00.

Science: Playing and learning with DRY ICE

I had some left over dry ice from one of my science labs at school so I brought it home to let the girls play and learn with it.
We added some liquid soap and a bit of food coloring so we could have some really fun bubbles.
Kiera thought it was cool and she thought she was "SO BIG" like her sisters to get to touch the bubbles and play with it.
Kya was also very excited. We talked about chemical changes and a big word 'SUBLIMATION'.
The girls got tired of sharing so I gave them each their own little bowl with a bit of dry ice in it to enjoy. Kiera is so proud of hers.
Kya loved blowing on the carbon dioxide that the dry ice created.
Kari was a good helper and sharer with her little sisters. She makes a good little scientist too!
We love playing with dry ice. Science is so fun, especially with my girlies!

Our new cousin....DOGNESS, a Pug puppy

Aunt Karla went and bought a new little Pug puppy. He is now our new little cousin and his name is DOGNESS. We often call him "Pug" along with his name.
The girls were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. We LOVE puppy!
Puppy gets lots and lots of kisses. Kiera considers him hers "my puppy" and she will even lay down by him and snuggle her face right up to his. It is darling to watch her with him.
All the girls are eager to help feed him and play with him. It took Dogness a few days to get use to all of us, but he is much more comfortable now and enjoys playing and loving the girls. Dogness stays at our house while Aunt Karla is at work. He really is a good dog. He will wimper at the back door when he needs to go potty and he hardly ever barks. He is getting more brave with playing rough, but he is still a little puppy. He loves jumping on the trampoline with the girls in the backyard and running around the yard playing tag with them. Dogness is a good babysitter while I try to hurry and get dinner ready or fold a batch of laundry.
Handsome Dogness in his Tux with tails outfit. The girls love when he is dressed up because they get dressed up in Princess clothes and they all go to the pretend ball.
Dogness looks super handsome in his red jeweled outfit.
Dogness looks like a wizard or a prize fighter in this outfit. Aunt Karla bought these fun outfits at the Dollar Store. We love Dogness and he is fitting into our family great!

Happy 3rd Birthday Kyandra!

Kya wanted an orange flower birthday party. Her favorite color is orange and she has been looking forward to her birthday since Kari had hers in February. Kya's birthday was March 31st. Here is Kya with her Dora pinata that we recycled from last years birthday parties. The pull-string pinatas are the best and it is just what Kya wanted.
Kya wanted orange flower cup cakes. We put orange Kool-aid in the vanilla buttercream frosting to make the orange flowers. We also added grape to make the purple centers, because purple is Kya's second favorite color. They tasted pretty yummy.
Kya made a wish and only spit on part of the cupcakes as she blew out her candles.
Cupcakes are a good way to go for birthdays.
Along with Kya's request for an orange birthday we had mandarine oranges, papya, and baby carrots to snack on.
Here are cousins, Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents that joined in the celebration.
Kari, Kya, Daycee and Haylee. Kya loved the baby doll they gave her.
Aunt Karla helped Kari find a dress that is Kya's favorite color. Kya loves this dress and wears it at least once, if not twice a week.
Aunt Karla bought Kya her birthday outfit because it was orange and she even added the orange flowers to the shirt, made orange flower barretts and an orange flower bracelet. Kya loves this outfit!
Kya is quite the artist as we have seen with her wall and other grafiti. Kade and I bought her an easle from D.I. and added some clamps to hold butcher paper on it. We got her some pre-filled paint brushes and she has made some awesome art with them!
Sugar from the candy in the pinata made Kya a bit silly with her goofy faces. We love our Kya and hope she had a great bithday!
Happy Birthday big girl Kyandra 'Snow White' Cheesman! She is 3 years old!
