Kolden - 11 months old!

The handsome boys! Kolden is pretty good about getting his picture taken.

Kolden currently has one tooth on top (three more are starting to cut through) and he has three on the bottom.
Kolden loves getting cuddles from Grandma Beth and Grandma Creta. He will also give me lots of cuddles. He most often will put his forehead against your forehead and hum. This is his preferred way to show loves. It is really sweet and cute.

Kolden LOVES the bathtub and will play and play and play in the tub. Sometimes I will just fold a couple of batches of laundry in the bathroom while he plays in the tub.
Kolden doesn't crawl yet, just military crawl. He also loves to scoot. He does a Russian split and then pushes his legs like a propeller to get to where he wants to go. He will also roll to his desired destination. He is such a funny boy. He loves and interacts so well with everyone in our family.
I love this giggly picture and the 'snaggle tooth'. We are so blessed to have Kolden in our family!

Zion National Park - just Kade and Kelli (on a date)

Kade and I took a day off and we ran to Zion National Park on a Monday. We decided to ride our bikes through the canyon and it couldn't have been nicer weather.
It was quite a rush speeding up and down the canyon with it's smells, sweet breezes and gorgeous views.
We were there when they were doing the body recovery of the two men that made a homemade raft of logs and tried going down the very full and choppy Virgin River. I did ride up to the top of the Canyon, before I knew they were doing the body recovery and saw a beautiful waterfall. I didn't get the chance to snap a picture so we will go back on Friday to enjoy the part again, but we will go with the kids and camp. We will make sure to get a picture of the waterfall then.

Kade and I really enjoyed our day together having fun and hanging out riding our bikes in Zion.

Fondue with the Family

Clint came home for just a couple of days from BYU and then he would fly off to Berlin, Germany for his summer program of school. I found some fondu and we decided to have a dinner. The strong cheese fondue was tasty. Sam, Karla's husband had never enjoyed fondue, I think it was good for him. We had chocolate fondue for dessert. It was very yummy and we enjoyed the company we had over too.

Great Aunt Karen's Ward Carnival

My Aunt Karen Cottam invited us to attend her Ward's Carnival. It was so much fun! They had train rides, a climbing wall, swings, a dunk booth, bounce houses and very tasty food. There were also Polynesian Dancers who performed.
Kari is in the first car, Kya is in the last and Kiera is in the second to last car. They loved this and rode it over and over and over again.
We loved the swings! There is Kiera in front and Kari and Kya are behind her.

There is Kari in the bounce house.
Kya and Kiera were in it too!
Kari was very brave and attempted the climbing wall. She got over half way up and decided that was high enough for her so she came back down.
These are the Polynesian Dancers from Dixie State College. Surprisingly, Kade's cousin, Chase Powell, was one of them. He served his mission to Tonga and he is the only guy there without a tatoo, and he is the only one not Polynesian on the outside, but I think his heart definitely is.

The dancers were great and we enjoyed watching them. The Ward Carnival was so fun! Aunt Karen wouldn't let me take her pictures, but we appreciate her inviting us to join in the fun!

Hurricane Half Marathon

I ran the Hurricane Half Marathon. I didn't train as hard as I planned on because I was busy with Karla's wedding and I got strep throat again. I did get the strep shot and I was much better about three days later. I was able to train sufficiently and I really enjoyed the race.
I enjoyed the amazing sunrise over Sand Hallow Reservoir. I tracked this race through all the smells. We started the race by homes and there was a nice faint smell of sage. As we ran around the Sand Hallow Reservoir intensified and was stimulating. I took in rich deep breaths of the sage smell. It was especially strong since it had recently rained. The desert was very peaceful and the sand dunes were beautiful with all the fresh undisturbed lines that had be formed from the previous day's wind.
The sun was shining so brightly that I didn't see the hill until I got to it. It didn't look that long, but it was. The first half mile of it was steep, but good and I was able to jog it comfortably. The second half of the mile was even steeper and my drive to get up the hill was my anticipation for the port-a-poddy at the top and I continued to jog it. After I passed the mile marker and saw that we still weren't finished with the hill I was surprised at how long it really was. I did make it to the port-a-poddy and then I felt great!
The smells changed then to rich compost smells and then, SMACK, it turned to strong manure. Admist all the farm area with manure there was a home with a long stretch of bloomed lilacs. The perfume of lilacs was so much better than any lilac lotion or perfume. It was awesome. They were so fun to run by.
As I ran into the more populated part of Hurricane the air was filled with different types of wood that were being burned in fireplaces. As we ran by the Church Orchard there was lots of car exhaust and then there was the sweet smell of victory as I reached the finish line. My time was 2 hours 27 minutes and I felt great!
I would definitely run it again.
I didn't think anyone was coming to see me at he finish line, but soon after I finished my mom showed up with the girls. It was a fun surprise. It was grateful to have a cheering section and feel their love and support. Thanks for coming!

What do you mean you cut her hair?!?!?!?!?!?

What would you think if the girls were all quiet and then you walk through the hall to see why it is so dangerously quiet and found THIS!!!!!
Kari was already hiding under the bed as she heard me coming down the hall. She knew she was in BIG trouble.
As I scolded Kari for cutting both her sister's hair and her own I had to keep on turning around because I would have to try not laughing. I was so tired and it really was a bad thing Kari did, but it really was funny at the same time, but I couldn't let the girls know that.
Kari cut the front sides of her own hair, you can see how it is uneven. She is really racking up a criminal record with scissors. First the eyebrows and eyelashes and now her and her sister's hair. We did not get Kari's hair fixed. She has to live with her natural consequences of having cut her own hair. Plus, if we scrunch her curly hair you really can't even tell and it will not scar her forever or irrevocably damage her childhood. Hopefully this will be like the chicken pox and she never does it again.
You can see that Kya was scalped in the area of her bangs. I called our friend Kandice Cluff to help repair the problems. She cut in more bangs to help mask the scalped areas.
Kari cut off Kiera's half ponytail.
Kiera now has a mullet. Why did Kya and Kiera let Kari cut their hair? Because it something new and they were getting attention.
Kandice was able to fix Kiera's hair, although it meant cutting off all her lovely curly locks. She now sports a cute bob and she is great with it.

Our family pictures from Karla's Wedding

These photos were taken May 6th, just in time to order them for Mother's Day. The following pictures were taken after Karla's wedding and after we lost all the pictures from her wedding, but they are not good quality pictures so we had to take them over again. You can see the difference in the girl's hair after Kari cut it.
We had to go and re-take pictures because we lost all our pictures from the wedding (very sad), and then our camera had gotten wet and doesn't quite work the way it used to. So, by the time we tried to take this family picture we only had enough battery for one try and this is what we got. Our family definitely is growing. Our kids are so much bigger and keep getting so beautiful (and handsome for Kolden). Kade just keeps getting more and more handsome and then I said "do I really look like that?" about myself. I guess I've changed a lot too, I hope for the better.
Karinya (6 years old)
Kyandra (4 years old)
Kierana ( 2 1/2 years old and quite the little lady)
Kolden (10 1/2 months old and so guapo like his daddy)
Cute Kiddos - Wow, we have four. It still boggles my mind!
Gorgeous Girls! I love this picture. We will get it blown up and put it in their room! I hope they look back years from now and are just as close and happy as they are in that picture.

KARLA & SAM's WEDDING: They got married! I made ~450 cupcakes for the reception. Karla and I went and got pedicures and manicures, our toes are so cute! Karla made a lovely bride. I will try and get some pictures to add to the blog for our family history. It was a bit of a stressful day and Karla barley caught the end of the luncheon, and with the help of some anxiety medicine she was married at the St. George Opera House and had a lovely reception. They are extremely happy together!

TOUR DE CURE (for Diabetes)

HELP! We need your HELP!
Kade and I are going to ride (with our road bikes) the Tour de Cure on June 12th. It is a 65 mile fundraiser for Diabetes ( a very worthy cause) in Brigham City, UT.
We each have to raise $150.00 towards this ride. If you feel so inclined to donate you can do it on-line or if you live close to us we can take any donations and deposit them into the Tour de Cure account (make checks payable to The American Diabetes Association). On-line it will show you how we are doing toward reaching our goal.
To donate on-line go to http://main.diabetes.org/site/TR?pg=pfind&fr_id=6830
Type in "Kelli Cheesman" or "Kade Cheesman" and click 'find a rider'. You will see our page and at the top of the thermostat is a button to 'click here to sponsor me'. That is where you can click to make your on-line donation. I am NOT a fan of soliciting, but this is for a REALLY GOOD CAUSE. So, if you would like to donate then we would appreciate it. If you live close and want something from your donation then I'll make you some cupcakes or twist you some balloons.

Welcome to My Tour de Cure Web Page!
