We took an adventure and went to see Uncle Clint run the Centennial 10K through Zion National Park. It was such nice weather we just had to spend a good part of the day in Zion just loving it. I must admit I was a bit jealous because it was such a gorgeous run. Maybe in another century I can try it at age 130. Just kidding. Hopefully someday in the nearer future they will do another run through Zion. Clint did a great job in the race and I saw lots of friends from the gym in the race. Kari brought along her friend Emmie so she could watch her parents run in at the finish line. It was fun having her and also cheering for her parents.

Everyone got a really cool Zion Centennial Medal for running the race. It looks good on Clint.

After the race we took the bus and went on a short hike to Lower Emerald Pools. Kiera was excited to sit with Grandma Beth and have her own big girl seat. Grandma and Kiera stayed by the Zion Lodge while we went on the hike.
We found some really pretty purple flowers. Instead of picking them we took a picture of them.
The girls were getting tired on the hike, but as soon as they saw the waterfall and water in the lower Emerald Pool they were fine and re-energized.
There was a bit of mud and Kade was holding Kya's hand as he slid through it. Consequently Kya was drug through the mud and was slightly horrified at being so dirty. Luckaly she was not hurt. Dad was washing her off with some of the water falling from the waterfall.
Kya and I also found some pretty yellow flowers.
Back by the Zion Lodge Grandma Beth and Kiera found a tree with some really wild roots. They were perfect to sit and take a picture on.
