My brother Clint proposed to Katheryn Ann Webster at the finish line of the St. George Marathon. He was so nervous. He wasn't nearly as nervous about doing the marathon as he was to propose to Kathryn at the finish line.
Clint had it all worked out. Chad would come in before us and cool off and get the ring box from my mom. I would come in and Chad and I would get Kathryn into the finish line area (which NO ONE is allowed unless theyhave a medal on). We got explained to officials that Clint was going to propose and so we got Clint's medal and pretended that Kathryn was going to present it to him. She wore his medal until he arrived and crossed the finish line. Clint crossed the finish line with a split lip from the hot weather and having just ran 26.2 miles. He took a few breaths and Kathryn presented him with his medal. At the same time Chad came from behind and slipped Clint the ring. Clint hugged Kathryn after he got the medal and took a few more deep breaths, then went down on one knee. Kathryn thought Clint was collapsing and was trying to catch him and help him back up. We started to tell her it was okay and then Clint whipped out the ring. Kathryn was shocked and realized what he was doing. Clint proposed and Kathryn accepted. Clint stood up and they hugged and kissed! All the crowd around us cheered! We cheered especially loud. We are EXTREMELY EXCITED that Clint and Kathryn are getting married! We love Kathryn! She is very kind and easy going. She obviously loves Clint and treats him so well. She gives him confidence and I've never seen him so happy!
