Cottam Civil War Murder Mystery Dinner

This was our 4th Civil War Murder Mystery Dinner and with my family, so it was sure to be very funny. Because of crazy schedules we had it as a brunch on Halloween Day.

Here are the happy Newlywed-ish Talbots!
Karla is Widow Rich and Sam is Private Stub

Here is the newly engaged couple, who will be married on December 28th, less than 2 months away!
Kathryn is Patti Pioneer and Clint is Abraham Linclon. Clint, I mean, Mr. President, added in much extra commentary which added to much theatricality and comedy during the dinner. It was great! Kathryn and her mom made her pioneer outfit.

Chad was General Jubal Early and Beth was Mini Minion. Everytime Chad would talk he would make this awesome grumble noise that represented him swearing because General Early was a bad old man and a cusser. Beth spoke in a petite southern accent.

Kade got to be Lieutenant Just, ahhhh - my hero! I got to be Sally Forth. I spoke with a deep southern accent and my mama said I needed a translater. It was pretty funny. I had to painfully listen to country music to work on my accent.
*We got Kade's costume from ebay. It is a real Civil War reinactment uniform. It is made of wool and is heavy. It cost less than a cheep costume would have cost. My dresses were also from ebay, from a cloak shop by VonLancelot (an Asian young gentleman with long neon purple hair). They are really cool dresses and I got the hoop skirts very inexpensively too. I will save the hoop skirts for when the girls get older and need them for their formals.

Here are some extra photos from the dinner. We had a great time and Karla taped parts of it on her camera and we have put it on DVD so we can watch it. All the accents people try to talk in are hilarious!
